After nearly two years of quarantine due to the pandemic, during which time travel to other countries was prohibited, we learned that there is great splendor right here at home. These 13 destinations don't require a passport, so you can leave yours at home and enjoy a tropical vacation, a winter wonderland vacation, a girls' trip, or a family vacation.
We're highlighting some of the most beautiful hotels and resorts in each area, as well as those that offer special opportunities to learn about the local culture through excursions. Marfa, Texas, with a population of 1,831, is the ideal small town arts hub. Long stretches of desert road put you in touch with nature despite your remote location. As the "Luckiest Fishing Village in the World," Destin, Florida, has quite the reputation. The beaches are lovely for basking in the sun or losing yourself in a good book, and the emerald waters are great for fishing.
