Experiences on Retreat

Anonymous October, 2023: "I enrolled in the Gong Camp presented by Sage Academy of Sound to learn how to play the gong as a complete beginner. When I arrived, I noticed that the new schedule no longer included practice time. On the first full day of the session, we only had 40-60 minutes of gong interaction, which had to be shared among us because there weren't enough gongs. Additionally, the placement of the gongs made it difficult to hear what we were doing. Towards the end of the second full day, during the dinner break, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the class to Leah, the owner of Sage Academy. I felt that the time spent on the gong was not enough to justify calling it a Gong Camp. The actual class was more focused on items that would be useful for sound meditation, which I am not interested in. I asked Leah for a partial refund because I was not happy, but she refused."

Heather October, 2023: "Darcy and Robin create an excellent environment for working with our master teacher plants through the Pachakuti Mesa and the Andean and Kamasqa Curanderismo lineages. Their eco-retreat center is beautiful and well-equipped, and everyone involved in our experience was genuine, generous, and heartfelt. Robin and Darcy have designed a meticulously crafted curriculum for certification in offering lineage-sanctioned ceremonies with our master plants. This course is at the forefront of plant medicine work. With their dedication and commitment to integrity, they provide a course that is a must for anyone seeking to assist others in the realms of transformation, healing, and spiritual evolution."

Anonymous October, 2023: "The property is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Nature surrounds you, although sometimes it can get a little too close as you are literally surrounded by woods. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed the buffet style and the fruit basket. The gift shop, although small, had a nice selection of items and I bought a few fun things. Since the dining area was on the opposite side of the site from the convention center, many students drove back and forth on the property. I preferred to walk along the walking paths. "

Roxanne October, 2023: "This was a great introduction to a fun art form. I wanted to attend all three classes, but unfortunately, I had conflicts."

Lena September, 2023: "I came to this retreat to deepen my connection to myself, my soul, and to discover more about my mission and how to live a purposeful and meaningful life aligned with that mission. The 5-day retreat was absolutely amazing and helped me with all of that and more. Thomas is truly a special and rare individual. He is genuinely loving and deeply connected to the divine. This means that he speaks hard truths, which are necessary for awakening something within oneself and making profound positive changes in life. And he doesn't leave you alone in that process. With an open heart and trust, and with the support of the team, I have been able to make these changes. I am now happier every day, more present in the moment, able to follow my intuition, and overcome challenges that I couldn't have done on my own or with my existing connections. The location is also magical, a little paradise. You can enjoy the company of others or spend time alone in the cozy cabin or out in nature. It gives you ample opportunity to reflect on the deep conversations you'll have with Thomas, yourself, and others on the team. I highly recommend taking time for yourself to let things sink in and feel them. Axel is there to answer any questions and provide assistance, and Maryna gives the most wonderful massages with her magical and blessed hands. Whatever your reason for coming here, you will receive exactly what you need. The retreat is very personal and feels tailor-made to your needs through Thomas' unexplainable connection to the divine source. If this resonates with you, I strongly recommend booking this retreat and approaching it with an open heart, ready to receive guidance for your conscious mind and your soul. You will be surprised by how much more you gain from it."

Juan September, 2023: "Judy embodies the archetype of the Wise Elder. She is a knowledgeable and wise teacher, warm, funny, and kind. She generously shares her knowledge and is not at all self-important. If you have the opportunity to study with her, I highly recommend it. I certainly hope to do so again."

Juan September, 2023: "It is always a pleasure to come to Star River. Being surrounded by nature, lush gardens, and positive people is nourishment for the soul."

Anonymous September, 2023: "It was a blessing to spend a day in such a holy place. It brought me much-needed peace and tranquility. Sister Lucy and Sister Paz will always hold a special place in my heart. I can't wait to visit again. Thank you, and may God bless everyone who enters this magnificent place."

Sami September, 2023: "I am filled with gratitude for the wisdom and support of these beautiful facilitators and guides of love. I have been so fortunate to participate in ceremonies at their temple multiple times, and each visit has been more powerful than the last."

Jes September, 2023: "My weekend private cabin retreat exceeded my expectations and provided everything I needed and more. The property is beautiful, and the people are wonderful."

Christopher September, 2023: "I just completed another amazing weekend retreat at Clear Sky. It was a tremendously transformative experience for me. I have realized how skilled the resident teachers and onsite team are at creating a space for deep transformation. Even a 48 or 72-hour retreat can have a profound impact when done with care and intention. I'm already looking forward to the next one!"

Kim, September, 2023: "What a wonderful experience of camaraderie, delicious pizza, and devotion. I brought my dog Hunter with me, and she was warmly welcomed. She had the freedom to run around the grounds while we worked. It was my first time at the priory, and I am eager to continue being involved in some way. I feel truly blessed."

Judith September, 2023: "I was looking for a quiet and beautiful space for a private retreat, and St. Placid's Priory was the perfect choice. The Priory and Spirituality Center are located in a serene wooded area. I often saw deer, birds, squirrels, and other forest creatures as I walked the paths around the Center. The place is incredibly peaceful. My room had a large window with a view of the woods, which brought a sense of tranquility. I particularly appreciated having a sink in my room since the showers and toilets were located down the hall. The Spirituality Center also has a full kitchen, which was ideal for me as I had brought my own breakfast. Mass is offered most days, and retreatants are welcome to join the Sisters for Mass. The Sisters are gracious and respectful of those seeking a silent retreat. The only thing I wish was different is that I could have prayed in the Priory chapel in the evening, but it closes at 6:00. Janice, the woman overseeing the Spirituality Center, was incredibly helpful. I highly recommend St. Placid's Priory for anyone seeking a quiet, comfortable, and beautiful setting."

Clare August, 2023: "I had heard many positive things about Robin and Darcy, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. If you're looking for an expertly led ceremony that is suitable for both beginners and those looking to go deeper, this is the place for you. I felt safe, supported, loved, and guided throughout my time there. I am still integrating and enjoying the knowledge I gained from that weekend. Highly recommended."

Dustin August, 2023: "There are many luxurious retreat centers that prioritize opulence, but I personally prefer natural settings, comfortable accommodations, and a deep connection to the Earth. Star River Sanctuary embodies all of this. Nestled in a mountainside forest, the geodesic structures make you feel like you're in heaven. The water is amazing, the gardens are beautiful, and even the resident cats seem to be in paradise. It's the perfect place for healing the mind, body, and spirit."

Dustin August, 2023: "Robin is an embodiment of integrity and compassion. She carries an ancient light given to her by her spiritual peers. Her lantern shines with honesty, humor, insight, and love. She fearlessly guides us into the darkness so that we can embrace the light. Her kindness has been instrumental in my healing journey."

Dustin August, 2023: "Darcy is called to be a healer, it is not self-appointed. He has a good heart and genuine compassion. I feel safe and cared for under his guidance."

Kate August, 2023: "My experience at Star River was fulfilling and exactly what I needed. Robyn and Darcy are wonderful individuals full of light and wisdom."

Liliane August, 2023: "The sisters at St. Placid were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the different facilities. They respected my request for a silent retreat while still showing concern for my well-being. The facilities, including the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and other areas, were clean. The food provided was of high quality. The deep sense of peace and silence in the area created a meditative and prayerful atmosphere. I am grateful for the St. Placid Spiritual Center and I will definitely plan more stays there."

Anonymous August, 2023: "I can't say enough good things about this place and the people. I am so grateful I chose this retreat! -Annie from Colorado"

Anonymous August, 2023: "My husband and I did a retreat together and it was perfect. We both received spiritual guidance, and the sisters were welcoming and attentive. We came away feeling like it was exactly what we needed at the right time."

Heidi July, 2023: "I had a restful three days and two nights at St. Placid. I had time to pray, read, and reflect on a major transition in my life. The retreat center was quiet and peaceful, and the food provided by the Sisters' chef was good. My silence was respected, and I had the freedom to structure my time as needed. I am grateful for the time I spent at St. Placid."

During my time there, I had the privilege of learning from Roman, whose teachings were extraordinary. He not only had profound knowledge but also showed an unwavering commitment to our growth and understanding. Each day spent with Roman was an enriching journey into the depths of plant medicine and its historical significance. His insights and expertise left us in awe of the wisdom he shared. It was clear that Roman poured his heart and soul into each interaction, providing us with a comprehensive understanding of everything we learned. Roman went beyond conventional teaching methods and infused each moment with passion and authenticity. His dedication and consistency created a safe and nurturing space for us to explore, question, and absorb the knowledge. The teachings have been profound and exquisite, keeping pace with the evolving times. During my visit in mid-July, I was also amazed by the abundance of the garden. Everywhere I looked, there were berries, fruit, flowers, and vegetables either ripening or ready to be picked. My heart is still filled with joy and reverence. 🙏"

I hope to see you soon. Many blessings, Esther"

Anonymous July, 2023: "Robin and Darcy are the real deal! Their retreat center is amazing, with great support on all levels and delicious food. If you're ready to deepen your transformation spiritually, emotionally, and with a supportive staff, I highly recommend this place!"

Todd July, 2023: "This location is beautiful, and the people who run it are authentic, love-centered individuals who have created a clean and deeply healing retreat center. I can't wait to go again.
