The only challenge you'll face when planning your trip is deciding which of the enchanting islands to visit. If you're traveling with children, Nassau is the obvious choice with its wide range of activities for kids. However, if you're looking for an adults-only vacation, we encourage you to think beyond the obvious and consider Grand Bahama Island. This equally exotic destination offers upscale hotels without being overly touristy, preserving its local charm. We highly recommend a visit to Port Lucaya, where you can explore unique handmade straw goods during the day and enjoy live music and dancing at night. For your accommodations, Pelican Bay Hotel is a boutique-style resort located right by Port Lucaya and just steps away from the beach. This island offers two distinct experiences, one on the French side and one on the Dutch side. While either choice is excellent, we personally prefer the Dutch side, Sint Maarten, renowned for its famous Maho Beach. You may have seen this beach in various YouTube videos, where planes fly incredibly close to the beach while landing at the adjacent airport, creating a thrilling spectacle (rest assured, you can't actually touch the planes!). For this reason and more, we recommend staying at the Sonesta Ocean Point or Maho Beach All-Inclusive Resort, Casino and Spa, which are two connected hotels offering adults-only and family-friendly experiences, respectively. These resorts are located right on Maho Beach, but they are strategically designed to provide a more exclusive and enjoyable experience, avoiding the crowds that gather from all over the island.

If you prefer a quieter beach experience, there are other well-known beaches within walking distance that receive less air traffic. As you explore these two interconnected resorts, you'll discover breathtaking views in every corner. The on-site restaurants cater to various dining preferences, from casual to ultra-romantic, and the swim-up bar offers endless entertainment. The Ocean Point Resort even offers rooms with direct access to the pool, either as private or shared accommodations. However, we highly recommend exploring beyond the resort as well. Rent a kayak and venture to Pinel Island, a small uninhabited island with two restaurants catering to visitors. It's a tranquil and beautiful spot that shouldn't be missed.
